The economy connections between China and the World especially Europe become closer and closer. More Foreign investors would like to conduct business in China nowadays. In order to expand the scope of foreign investment and promote opening of the economy, with effective from 28 July, 2017, China has launched a new Catalogue of Industries for Guiding Foreign Investment (外商投资产业指导目录（2017 年修订）), which is to replace that issued in 2015, where major points to note are:-
Faded out many low-value, labor intensive and environmental hazard industries, or even putted into “Negative List”;
Introduced “Negative List” with specified industries, which refers as “Catalogue of Restricted Foreign Investment Industries” and “Catalogue of Prohibited Foreign Investment Industries”;
Encourage foreign investors to bring high value and technology industries and services to further uplift the economic standard to next level ;
Foreign investors should observe that apart from this catalogue, different Provinces still have their own preference of industries due to diversity in geographic and economic environment; we highly recommend on-site evaluation to ensure the proposed setup would be pre-approved by the government.
